Melania Trump Defends Her Nude Modeling Career as Photos Resurface

On Wednesday, former First Lady Melania Trump said she stands “proudly” behind her nude modeling career in a video posted on social media.
The 45-second video, posted on X, formerly Twitter, opens with a voice-over by the former First Lady defending her nude modeling work, and then saying “why has the media chosen to scrutinize my celebration of the human form in a fashion photo shoot?”
She went on to ask, “are we no longer able to appreciate the beauty of the human body?”
The video does not feature her modeling photos, but rather highlights well-known nude statues and artworks.
Trump has a storied modeling career dating back to her teen years. She was discovered by a Slovenian photographer at 16 and signed with a modeling agency in Milan, Italy, a couple years later.
“We should honor our bodies and embrace our timeless and tradition of using art as a powerful means of self-expression,” Trump said in the video, which then cuts to an image of her forthcoming memoir, Melania. It is scheduled to be released on October 8.
Trump was born and raised in Slovenia. She became a naturalized American citizen in 2006. Melania Trump started dating former President Donald Trump in 1998 and the two were married in 2005.
